About Me

I grew up in Austin, TX going to concerts and festivals. I was always watching bands, listening to music, and daydreaming about being a famous musician someday. I knew early on that I wanted to make music. I thought I wanted to be a performer, and it wasn’t until much later that I discovered that my passion for making the music far outweighed my passion for performing it.

When I was younger, I sat in my room for months at a time making music using off brand music programs with an old secondhand Tascam interface. What I made wasn’t industry grade quality, but it taught me how to use my ears, and my skills to overcome gear limitations. I learned how to work with what I had to make the sounds I wanted to make. Now, ten years down the road, I have professional grade gear and a nice home studio space. Ironically sometimes I feel like all it does is get in the way. Some of the best placements I’ve ever gotten, Netflix’s ‘Girls5Eva’ for instance, were songs that I recorded on crappy gear in a tiny room with no sound treatment when I didn’t even know what a compressor was.
